English and Spanish

Why Language Matters in Therapy

Some things only come out in the language you felt them in. For many people, the deep material lives in Spanish, even if they do their job in English. It can be a relief not to translate your own pain.

Tatiana is a bilingual therapist with Spanish as her second language. She is passionate about serving Spanish-speaking individuals and communities across California, in person in Sacramento and by telehealth statewide. Clients who prefer Spanish can say so on the first call.

Who Tends to Reach Out

  • Adults who prefer to do therapy in Spanish
  • People who move between languages and want a clinician who can too
  • Adult children looking for help for a Spanish-speaking parent
  • Christians who want faith-based support in Spanish

An Honest Note

Spanish is Tatiana's second language, and she is upfront about that. Tell her which words matter to you and how you talk about these things at home. If you need a clinician who is a native speaker, she will tell you honestly whether she thinks she is the right fit.
