About This Group

What Sits Underneath the Anger

This group offers a supportive space to understand anger and to learn healthier ways of managing it. Rather than treating anger as something to simply suppress, members explore what sits underneath it and practice responding in ways that protect their relationships and their own well-being.

Sessions are led by a licensed clinician in a confidential, non-judgmental setting, with plenty of room for guided discussion and practical skill-building.

The Neuroscience

Why Anger Moves Faster Than Your Reasoning

When your brain reads a threat, the alarm system fires before the part of your brain that weighs consequences has finished its work. Your heart rate climbs, your muscles tighten, and the words are out before you have chosen them.

That is why this group teaches the nervous system first. Once you can recognize your early warning signs, you can practice bringing your body down before the conversation goes further. Understanding why it happens is the starting point for doing something different.
