About This Group

Start With How You Think

This group builds the skills that healthy relationships run on: clear communication, boundaries, emotional awareness, and positive self talk. Members explore how their thinking patterns shape the way they speak and the way they relate to others, then practice new ways of connecting that honor both themselves and the other person.

How we speak is a product of how we think. So the work starts upstream, with healthy and unhealthy thinking patterns, and moves toward a healthier thought life.

Looking at One Conversation

A useful starting point is one ordinary exchange that did not go the way you hoped. What did you want the other person to understand? What did you actually say, and what remained unsaid? Separating those questions can make a broad concern such as “we never communicate” easier to discuss. The aim is to notice your own choices, needs, and limits more clearly, without expecting a perfect sentence to control someone else.

What Practicing a Skill Looks Like

  1. Discuss

Start with a real moment, like a conversation that went sideways at home or work.

  2. Reflect

Look at the thought that came before the words and what the body was doing.

  3. Practice

Try the conversation another way, with feedback.
